Unhealthy Obsession

My wife has an unhealthy obsession with the show "Sex in the City." I believe that she has seen every episode at least 10 times (and I'm probably being conservative). Anytime it is on TV, whether it is on HBO or TBS, she has it on. And since we have Comcast Digital cable, she even watches it "On Demand" every chance she gets. She could easily watch 10 hours of it in a single sitting.......I mean, I have trouble watching 10 hours of football in a single sitting (I can do it, but it ain't easy).

Now, I've watched episodes of the show, and yes, it is a well-done show (as most shows on HBO are). But, I don't consider it a show that I could sit down and watch over and over again (like I can with Seinfeld and Cheers). Don't get me wrong, I enjoy any chance I can get to see Kim Catrall in the buff (She is the only reason that I am able to stomach a movie like Mannequin). But, I think the Sex in the City song is the most annoying song I have ever heard. When I hear that song, I am encouraged to change the channel as fast as I can.

Another topic of this is how can this show be shown on TBS (or TNT, or whatever)? Take out the nudity, and you lose a lot of male viewers. I know that the show is well-written, but even the "controversial" lines need to be altered when it is show on TBS. What's the point? It's like trying to format any of the early Eddie Murphy movies for television - it can't be done without sacrificing the best parts of the movies.

Anyway, if there is any type of Sex in the City helpline that anyone can forward to me, please do so.

Hmmmm...
I feel that way about M.A.S.H.! I love that show. I could watch it over and over and over.

But come on, Karl, this obsession of Sue's can't be any worse than your obsession of The Rolling Stones. (Though I would much rather listen to the Stones than Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Catrall's mindless anti-man banter any day.)

i felt the same way about the simpsons. not so much anymore. certainly family guy has taken those honors now. as has who's line on abc family.

unhealthy obsession:
i'm guilty of getting sucked into the 'best of...' or the 'i love the...' shows. They really need to make them for sports. 'I love the 80s - nhl' or '50 greatest eagles moments'. now that would really get me sucked in.
